Creation Of Flood Displaced People's Camps FDP~ Double Comr. Coleman Timi

Delta State____ It is chagrin to avow that more than 20,000 people have been sacked by the ravaging flood in the riverine communities. Many residents in Burutu, Bomadi, Patani, Warri south west, Warri North local government area respectively fled their homes due to continuous heavy down pour over the past few weeks.

These flood victims suffers this fate every year. Only God knows when this calamity will end! Furthermore, people are now homeless, properties destroyed, schools closes down(flood break), high death rate due to water borne diseases like cholera, snake bite, colossal disruption of business activities, destruction of crops, farm lands, houses, among others.

It is not contrivance that God created them in coastal region or not a crime to own her fatherland in the riverine area. I'm calling on Dr Ifeanyi Okowa to urgently address the needs of the flood displaced people. Establish FDP Camps and financial support to them, because affected individuals need food, shelter assistance provision of health services, drinking water and access to clean toilets. Household items have also been damaged. Most vulnerable are women, children under five, elderly persons, and persons with disabilities.

I'm also calling on legislators representing riverine communities to sponsor bills containing the permanent creation of FDP Camps, with yearly budget to rehabilitate flood displaced people's.
